The last 3 days

So on Friday, my mom dragged me up to NH to avoid the heat, but I needed to wait for my AP scores (which came!), but were not what I was hoping for (boo!). So, they weren't that bad, but not what I was expecting...
So we got up there and it had been raining quite a bit. My mom made supper on the barbeque and the deck broke. It was bad. And my mom has really nasty bruises. Fortunately, at least the food was good.
The next day we got up and it was sorta kinda nice. Until it started to rain. And flood the kitchen. But I got in a quick run before dinner and I finished HP7 (did I ever mention that I started it... I don't think so).
We got up the next morning (today...) expecting it to be moderately nice, but alas, it was still pouring. We packed up and headed back down to good 'ole Bedfordia.
We got home and it was terribly hot and humid, but for once, it wasn't raining. I chilled, showered, then went to my bassoon teacher's house to get a ride to Wellseley College for the Composers' Conference and Chamber Music Festival. It was newcomers meeting and dinner and a talk by Gunther Schuller. And lots of meeting people who are much older than you (often 3 to 4 times as old...). Gunther Schuller was very full of himself, but was also a very good and interesting speaker. Overall, a great experience. I'm looking forward to actually playing Thursday through Saturday...

Suspicious that you are reading HP7 just now :P

What is your opinion of it?

Hmm, HP7...
Well, it's a mixture.
I like the plot and I love the mixture of Horcruxes and Hallows. I admit (as many people say) that the Dumbledore dream scene is amazing. And no, JK Rowling is not a "great" author. But her storytelling ability is great and the foreshadowing is absolutely magnificant (especially on the 2nd or 3rd reading). I know you hate the epilogue, but after all, it is a kid's book and I actually like it. Yes, it's cheesy, but there are really good parts (like when one of the Harry kids asks what'll happen if he goes into Slytherin). So I can deal. And I always love a happy ending. The one thing I would have loved is if Rowling had made the Nazi connection more pronounced. While there are many references, it's too faint for me. And yes, you sparked me reading it.

Happy endings are for the weak.
